I wasn't talking about match potential. From previous threads in this discussion I know I'm a star because I have more than 400 in 1881. Perhaps I should put it another way; I wanted to know if Irish 1911 entries counted towards or made any difference to status which is totally different from match potential.

I have a match potential of 6.3976 but only have matches with 9 people, all of whom are 'related by marriage'.

It would be absolutely fantastic. But I'd happily settle for every reader of my newsletter having a Match Potential of at least 1 - that would still make an amazing difference.

All entries add to Match Potential, and Status is determined by Match Potential. If you want to know how much Match Potential increases for each entry from a given census make a note of what it is before and after.

A couple of thoughts based on previous posts, we need to encourage our cousins to join Lost Cousins and to add their relatives. Yes, it will give us matches with people we already know, BUT they will add their other ancestors and relatives who will match with other Members. What a great gift to give! It's very easy to make a referral on the Lost Cousins site, which means your relative won't have to add all the households in common that you have already added. There's a great report in FTAnalyzer that will list all the people you share to help you select on Lost Cousins the people to share with them.

New Members mean New Entries, and New Entries mean New Matches. Everyone wins.

When you invite a known relative to join LostCousins (using Refer a Relative on your My Referrals page) you can save them time by indicating which of your relatives they share. When you do this the relatives you've selected will magically appear on your relative's My Ancestors page the first time they log-in.

If you're a LostCousins subscriber you can also gift them a free upgrade that lasts until 1st May - plenty of time to complete their My Ancestors page and connect with the cousins they don't share with you. You'll find the offer code on the Subscribers Only page.

Note: if you're a subscriber the offer code can be used by any new member you invite to join - they don't need to be cousins. You can share it within a closed group but please don't publish it where everyone can see it. When inviting members of a group to join ask them to enter your membership number or give them your personal referral link (both are shown near the top of your My Summary page); this enables you to track how many have joined, though it won't tell you who has joined - for that you would need to do individual referrals.
 
Have you been upgraded? The calculation of Match Potential has been altered to reflect the relatives entered by the membership as a whole over the past 12 months; my Match Potential has shot up from 12.9748 to 14.1737 as a result of this update.
 
Thank you to all members that have added so many census references. They have pushed my Match Potential up by almost 4, even though I have added very few entries recently.

In fact, I have just done a new search without adding any new entries and been rewarded with 1 new contact and 7 new matches, which I will follow up after a good night's sleep.
 
Mine went up from 3.6649 to 4.0152. I just checked my coupon code however, and it is lower than what is stated in my profile. Should I be changing it?

Been a member since 2010 but only just started using the system for real in the last few weeks. Seems to work really well, trying to get as many of my one name study names entered from both the 1881 and 1911.
