Towcester and District History Society has some excellent sources about the rural town of Towcester with its population of 9,000 and lying only 60 miles north of London. It is the oldest town in the county and was once an important Roman town called Lactodurum.
Amongst the various information to be found, under the top of the page “Families” tab, along with other transcriptions, are those of Burials. These are free to view and found by an alphabetical or year index by name, serial number or burial plot. If there is more information, such as a photograph, a link is provided next to the entry.
Other very useful sources in this section are a list of Towcester Wills 1724-1856 with full explanations of abbreviations, etc, and for earlier date researchers, 1600s-1700s Baptisms, Marriages and Burials.
