Got curious at a very early age, I was about 10. Was at my grandmothers and found an old birthday book full of names and dates. Grandma said it was her own grandmother's book. One of the names was Auntie Annie, my grandmother's auntie that is, I ws told she had moved to Canada and no one ever heard from her again. I had no means of researching family history until the internet explosion and I picked up on Auntie Annie again. By sheer chance found her marriage when I was looking for another relative. Annie had not emigrated to Canada until she was in her early forties, with her husband and children, after the family business went belly up. The family turned up in Winnipeg and I am now attempting to find more of her descendents. Annie herself lived to 101.
