The article on the Biden connection to several ancestors in one village was interesting. I seem to have no connection, but over the years, I have traced connections to 19 US Presidents.
All these connections are on the side of my paternal grandmother, more than 90% of whose ancestry comes from 17th century immigrants to New England. Through those roots, I have common ancestors with Millard Fillmore (4 common ancestors plus a step relation), Franklin Pierce (2), Rutherford Hayes (2), James Garfield (3), Chester Alan Arthur (1), Grover Cleveland (2), William Howard Taft (3), Calvin Coolidge (3), Herbert Hoover (2), Franklin Delano Roosevelt (3), Gerald Ford (4), George H.W. Bush (2), and George W. Bush (3). Common ancestors further back in England link me to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, William Henry Harrison, Cleveland again, Benjamin Harrison, Theodore Roosevelt, Taft again, F.D. Roosevelt again, and G.W. Bush again.
For those interested in the topic, the best authority on the subject is Gary Boyd Roberts. His book Ancestors of American Presidents is now a bit out of date, but he has more recent research published on americanancestors.org and elsewhere.
