Economy 7 was mentioned in Peter's Tips. It will become part of history soon.

See an energy company's forum The sun is setting on RTS meters and Wkipedia Radio teleswitch. Google also shows a Daily Telegraph article Smart meters 'only alternative' for millions after radio signal turns off but that is behind a pay wall for me.

You shouldn't believe everything you read in the newspapers (for a start my Economy 7 meter doesn't rely on radio signals). In fact, thanks to smart meters there are more twin rate options than ever before - when I get my smart meter I plan to move onto EDF's GoElectric 98 tariff, which offers Economy 10 in the week, plus all day Saturday and Sunday.
