She has been in the news around Armistice Day (Google if you have not read the story). Her birth is shrouded in mystery. Records show her born illegitimately to Ann Elliott 26.1.1888. There is no record of her marrying so Lawrence is not a married name. According to her mother Ann Elliott's will dated June 17, 1901, her daughter was actually named "Annie Dorothy Brown" Wikipedia - not Lawrence at all. Possibly she adopted the name but that does not solve the Brown/Elliott issue.
