Hoping someone can give me some advise please.
I am looking for a female ancestor, lived and died in the UK . All her life the family knew her maiden name as Buckley, and that is the name on marriage certificates and childrens birth certificates.
On her death bed she told her eldest daughter that she had lied all these years and maiden name was in fact Greenwood and something about her life in Canada, also that she had destroyed all proof of her past life.
After lengthy searches, in UK and Canada a likely looking birth was found... Same name, same father, but not the right lady.
Nothing remotely like has turned up.
Any advise gratefully welcome.
