Circus, What Circus

I got started in family history research at the reading of my Mum's will. One of the things that she mentioned was "Don't get rid of the large travelling case, it goes back to the circus days". My siblings and I looked at each other and all said "Circus, What Circus".

So does one of you have "the large travelling case" ? and did you find a Circus connection?
 
Sadly my older sister sold it to a secondhand store. She couldn't even remember who she sold it too. I did some research and found that we are descended from the Williamson Templeton family of entertainers. I have been able to trace us back to Robert Williamson Templeton who was born in Manchester in 1801 but then hit a brick wall. I think that Williamson Templeton was their stage name and it is possible that their original name was Williamson.
