Have pity, Peter, the forum members are probably struggling to find any one new to enter.
I spent this morning looking for people who were going to marry a relative, (e.g. those born in the 1870s) and entering them. I did a check and I now have a new contact. Sounds good, but if we ever get in touch, he/she may be sadly disappointed in what I can bring to the party.

It would be great, but I think the odds maybe against us :(

People on the forum were on the whole, members who had entered the most relatives over at LC? Therefore its the others who should have more relatives to add.

But on the positive side, in theory you only need to add one relative to win, you're just more likely to win something the more you enter. :)

Unfortunately, I am now finding it rather difficult to identify more than one Christmas each year!
Never mind, I will keep searching. Perhaps Santa will have a surprise for me? :rolleyes:
I hope he keeps it in the family ;) although no matches produced so far! :(

Funny you should mention that - one member entered two Christmas's on their My Ancestors page earlier today - but it was a mistake, because on the census they're actually recorded as Chrismas.
 
Hi Everyone!

Here's a weekly update on how well people have been doing over at LostCousins.
  • 46 new members joined the LostCousins site
  • 10,173 new entries have been added and
  • 503 relatives have been matched.
As accurately predicted by Peter, a surge has indeed happened!! Over 10,000 new entries so far, and with the competition having another 5 days to run, then hopefully we'll see a large number next week as well.

And did you see this discussion started by Peter? What Christmas surprise is Peter giving us?

I must confess I've never made Christmas jam, unless making jam 8 days before Christmas counts. On Monday I bought 3kg of tomatoes in Tesco for a mere 16p per kg - kept some for salads and turned the remaining 2Kg into 7 jars of "Tomato Jam with a Hint of Lemon".

Tesco used to sell a strawberry-based Christmas Jam which was actually rather good (I shall have to Google recipes). Also have to decide what to do with the raisins in brandy that have been in the fridge for the past few months - ever since the great fudge disaster which ruined my best cooking pot.
 
Red, I think when you announce this week's numbers a drum roll or a 21-gun salute might be in order. That's assuming you aren't taking Christmas off......

Yes, and the wife was none too pleased with me this morning. Anyway I agreed to accompany her on a longish walk after lunch.

I think Bob is busy looking at bungalows and such like

What a spectacular result!! Nearly 31k new entries in the last week alone, I wonder if Peter anticipated such a good response? And 1,246 matches.
