What's a disgraph operator?

Confirmed from a newspaper report of a new company of Campbells - many of them came together to form a trading company. And one was...a biograph operator. Thanks susan48 and everyone else for their contributions.

Interestingly, yesterday I came across a few newspaper entries from the early 20th century which referred to diagraph or diograph, while the context suggested they almost certainly meant biograph.

Maybe it was one of those words which led to some confusion back then, like dissect and bisect confuses some people today - or genealogy and geneology, trawl and troll etc.
 
I'm pleased the occupation has now been resolved, Vio, even though the B/D discrepancy remains.
